Seeds & Soil

Our first Seed Guardian event will begin at the foundations of seed saving, starting our journey with the importance of soil.

We will learn about the world of soil, microbes, and urban worms with Anna de la Vega of the The Urban Worm CIC, learn about different growing mediums suitable for our seeds and plants, why seed saving and food sovereignty is important, and sow 'real seeds' together to take home and begin our seed saving journeys.

All attendees are also welcome to stay after the workshop to participate in community seed sowing for the Education Garden.

All seeds, materials, resources and take home items will be provided. 11am-1pm Moo Haven Education Garden.

If travelling by public transport, take the NCT Number 11 bus from Victoria Centre to Adbolton Lane Terminus. Walk towards Holme Pierrepont and you'll find Moo Haven on your left, just after Church Farm at Skylarks Care Home.

Thanks to the support of The People's Postcode Trust this workshop is FREE but you will need to confirm your place/RSVP!

This workshop is a part of a programme of seed saving workshops and events held under the project Nottingham Seed Sovereignty. By attending you will join a network of Seed Guardians working to protect heritage seed in Nottingham.

Coronavirus: We are closely watching and will follow any updates from Public Health England regarding public gatherings and COVID-19. Hopefully we shouldn't have to cancel or rearrange, but we will let you know in good time if we do.
